The decision guide / 13 calculators

Production & signals

Make format, engagement, and file-size assumptions visible.

Worksheet / 01 / 4 tools

Read campaign and audience signals.

Choose the denominator and event definition before comparing engagement or advertiser cost. A click, conversion, impression, and view answer different questions.

Engagement Rate

Calculate engagements as a percentage of a clearly selected denominator.

Choose impressions, reach, or followers deliberately because each answers a different question.

Open Engagement Rate

Advertiser CPM

Calculate campaign cost per thousand impressions for a creator campaign brief.

Use this for the advertiser-side media cost context of a creator campaign, not creator revenue.

Open Advertiser CPM

Advertiser CPC

Calculate advertiser spend per click for a creator campaign context.

Use this to compare campaign spend with clicks; it does not estimate a creator fee or audience value.

Open Advertiser CPC

Advertiser CPA

Calculate advertiser spend per campaign conversion in a creator brief.

Use this for advertiser acquisition cost with a defined conversion event, not creator earnings.

Worksheet / 02 / 3 tools

Separate creator revenue from viewing volume.

Use entered revenue and RPM scenarios separately from watch-time arithmetic. Views and watch hours describe volume, not a guaranteed payout or distribution outcome.

Creator RPM

Calculate creator revenue per thousand views from user-entered revenue and views.

Use this for observed or scenario creator revenue, distinct from advertiser CPM.

Open Creator RPM

Watch Time

Estimate total watch time from views and user-entered average watch seconds.

Use this to plan viewing volume from explicit audience inputs, not to predict distribution.

Open Watch Time

Worksheet / 03 / 4 tools

Prepare a video for delivery.

Check frame ratio, estimated encoded size, observed average bitrate, and transfer time as separate production constraints.

Aspect Ratio

Divide width by height to describe a frame's numeric aspect ratio.

Use matching units and simplify or round the displayed ratio when preparing a format spec.

Open Aspect Ratio

Upload Time

Estimate upload duration from binary file size and user-entered bandwidth.

Use this for a rough transfer estimate and add headroom for protocol, Wi-Fi, and service overhead.

Worksheet / 04 / 2 tools

Draft text locally.

Count grapheme clusters or qualifying hashtag tokens while drafting, then confirm the destination service's own rules before publishing.

Character Counter

Count user-entered text as Unicode grapheme clusters without storing or sharing the text.

Use this for local caption, title, or bio drafting when a character count is useful; the rule counts visible grapheme clusters, not UTF-16 units.

Open Character Counter

Hashtag Counter

Count locally entered hashtags using an explicit Unicode token rule.

Use this to audit draft hashtags: a hashtag starts at text start or after whitespace and contains letters, numbers, or underscores.

Choose the right lens.

Read the result alongside its definition, not as a standalone score.

How we document formulas and limitations

Comparing campaign reports?

Name the denominator, event definition, and reporting window. Advertiser CPM, CPC, and CPA describe campaign cost; they do not describe creator compensation or prove incrementality.

Estimating creator revenue?

Use your own RPM and view scenario, and keep watch time as a separate audience-volume measure. Platform eligibility, deductions, and changing audience mix can alter actual revenue.

Sending a finished video?

Check the export's ratio, average bitrate, size, and transfer estimate against the destination's current requirements. File arithmetic does not guarantee acceptance or quality.
